New Business:  none

Old Business: Mr. Fryou asked the members for confirmation of the director’s position.  Mrs. Angeron was appointed as Executive Director in March of 2010, with August 2010 being her sixth month in the position.  Mr. Fryou told the members the probationary period had been fulfilled and asked the members if they had any questions.  Mr. Veal told the members that he was very impressed by Mrs. Angeron’s job performance and professionalism.  Mr. Mayon asked if the members should discuss a salary adjustment.  Mr. Verret agreed.  Mr. Fryou asked for a copy of the April 2010 minutes.  A copy of the April minutes was provided to Mr. Fryou which showed a re-evaluation with the possibility of a salary adjustment after a six month probationary period.  Mr. Verret had a memo from a special meeting that was held in August 2006, stating that the interviewing members agreed to $49,000.00 a year to be the new salary for the director.  A motion was made and seconded with all members in favor.  He told the board that Mrs. Angeron took the position at a reduced rate and has done an outstanding job deserving of the higher salary.  Mr. Fryou told the board that he agrees an increase should occur.   Mr. Fryou was unsure if the special meeting agreement locked the salary of $49,000.00 in place.  Mr. McAllister asserted that he understood the wording to mean that the salary for director would be $49,000.00.  Mr. Verret noted that the director salary increased from approximately $35,000.00 to $49,000.00 when the previous director was hired.  Mr. Veal suggested the discussion be tabled until the next meeting.  Mr. Fryou agreed, suggesting the salary increase retroactive to this date.  Mr. Veal made the motion to table the decision until the next meeting with the salary increase retroactive to this date.  Mr. Mayon seconded the motion.  All members were in favor and the motion carried.

Director Updates:  Mrs. Angeron told the members that her goals for the first six month period have been attained.  The center is now fully staffed.  Mapping for administration has been updated as well as the quick books program.    Taxes will be filed electronically in the future.   The 911 web site has been updated with favorable results.  A safe school summit was attended and 911 was asked by a member of the school board to do a presentation at the first of the year.  Community Awareness will begin soon, involving area high schools and elementary schools alike.  Mrs. Angeron told the members that Mr. Arthur had contacted her to tell the board he wants to revisit the changes to vacation and sick time, as well as a personal day for the employees at the next meeting.  911 will be participating in Red Ribbon Week next month with the local schools.
