St. Mary Parish 911 Communications District

Chairman Mark Fryou opened the November, 2011 meeting with a roll call. Mr. Fryou, Mr. Duval Arthur, Mr. Matt Mayon, Mr. Gerald Minor and Mr. Artis Jackson were in attendance. Mr. Verret and Vice Chairman Carl McAllister were not at the meeting.
Chairman Fryou opened the meeting with a call for a motion to accept the November 2011 meeting minutes. Mr. Mayon made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Mr. Minor seconded the motion. All members were in favor and the motion carried.
The income statement for November 2011 totaled $53,197.60. Mr. Minor made a motion to accept the income statement. Mr. Mayon seconded the motion. All members were in favor and the motion carried. Expenses for the month of November 2011 totaled $45,552.56. Mr. Mayon made a motion to accept the expense statement. The motion was seconded by Mr. Minor. All members were in favor and the motion carried.
New Business: Chairman Fryou introduced a letter of engagement from the CPA to the members at the meeting. Mr. Arthur made a motion to accept Kolder, Champagne, Slaven and Co. as the auditor for the upcoming year. Mr. Minor seconded the motion. All members were in favor and the motion carried.
Old Business: A copy of the 2012 budget for the 911 center was given to each member of the board. Director Charlette Angeron added a new line item to the 2012 budget to update the 911 mapping system. Chief Minor made a motion to accept the 2012 budget. Mr. Arthur seconded the motion. All members were in favor and the motion carried.
Director Updates: Three call takers went to State Police Headquarters in Baton Rouge for Crisis Negotiation training.
Two supervisors went to a supervisor training seminar in Lafayette. There are plans to send each call taker to a training seminar in 2012.
District 11 Fire Department is up and running on its own frequency. Four employees attended the District 11 Christmas Banquet. 911 received a plaque of appreciation from Chief Clark.
The application for the automatic locking system has been approved. Extra cameras will be installed, as well as the lock, by GT Services.
Surrounding parish 911 centers have been visited by Mrs. Angeron. Networking with other parishes should ease the transition to NG 911 technology.

Public Comment: Bayou Vista Fire Chief Darryl Perry congratulated the board members for a job well done and thanked them for the work they do throughout the year.
Adjournment: Mr. Minor made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Mayon seconded the motion. All members were in favor and the motion carried.
